BGM: Aitch - 1989
TBH a junior high school student helped with our work today as a school activity, therefore I did some orders for him this morning. Usually, I do my work mainly alone, so it was difficult for me to think about him properly. What kind of explanations/orders are easy for him to understand? I had to find it and verbalize it to him clearly. As I have written in the journals, I have read Wittgenstein's philosophy about languages and communications. So, this kind of situation teaches me how "hot" or "actual" his philosophy can be. He could have experienced this kind of miscommunication at his workplace I guess.
From today, I start enjoying this season's English conversation class again (we will have 8 lessons.) Before today's work, I told my friends about this then, a Discord user told me "But your English is good enough." Of course, it was so great for me to accept, but it caused me to think about why I have learned English in this small country where I rarely need it daily. As you might have already known, I tend to answer paradoxical opinions for this question at each opportunity. Yes, it can be so diverse as "for making friends all over the world", "for reading various novels such as 'Lolita' and '1984' in English", and also more "evil" reasons why.
At this moment, I remember that this day in 1989 was also the day the Tiananmen Massacre had been caused in China. Of course, it doesn't relate to this trial of learning English directly... but about some years ago, I started using Discord and WeChat to enjoy communicating various topics by using English such as Haruki Murakami and also literally "evil" stuff. Beyond actual lines/borders on the world, I have started learning the outer world's reality which tells me about this country's inner reality like a kind of mirror, too.
This evening I attended the English conversation class. There, I enjoyed the nice opportunities to have conversations with my friends (I could see their faces showing cheerful smiles.) Indeed, at workplaces and schools, we have to stay good and try to do various tasks as our duties. But in this kind of private, relaxed situation we can enjoy opening our minds so freely. To release my mind in an unexpected way... that can be the main purpose for me to keep on learning English like this.
