It was a day off, and this morning I went to AEON as usual with a dictionary. There, I tried to finish my homework of an English studying club, with Mouse On Mars' great album "Autoditacker". It is an article from the book "The Book of Tea" in English a Japanese intellectual Tenshin Okakura (岡倉天心) had written, and even though it was really old English enough I could enjoy reading it. Really slowly, I have been able to read it with a certain interest.

However, at the meeting I will attend on next Sunday we will try to read it really steadily, therefore I needed to check out almost "every" word about their meanings. What does this word mean in Japanese? For example, even though I use it in my daily life really easily, I couldn't find out what the word "costume" could mean. Oh my gosh! I know the word "cosplay", but I had to find out that it has the meaning of "clothes". Like that, I had to spent the morning time fully to read only one page of that book.

Not only that "cosplay", but I had to try to read it with my full effort. As you see in various situations in Japan, we Japanese use so plain English easily at various situations. But, when I start finding the meaning of "beverage" and "cult", I need to understand what they can mean in really easy/plain Japanese. Even though I just used my dictionary to read it, I felt I had gotten slightly sweaty.

This afternoon, maybe because I had done such a serious/hardworking effort to read something in English, basically I had spent a fully dull time. In my bed, I had took a nap. After having my dinner, I went to "danshu" meeting this evening. There, every member did confess each one's personal experience. I taught at there this morning's activity of mine (yes, the reading activity I already have written above.)

What's the meaning of happiness? There, the other members tried to find out that. Me, after quitting alcohol, I eventually can feel my own way to feel/taste such a precious, tiny happiness. Although my life has been within the late stage, I won't stop learning English, and also writing as this...
