Life goes on brah!

BGM: Trashcan Sinatras - Obscurity Knocks

I worked early today. This morning, I joined the daily English Zoom meeting. Probably, about 2 or 3 years have passed since I joined this English group. I like this group because the members certainly show their eagerness to improve their English skills more and more. Through these morning sessions, I must have been able to improve my skills too, even though I should train myself more to achieve the so-called "completed state (if it could be reachable while I am alive)".

This morning's meeting theme was the mechanism by which our brains need sugar more even though our stomachs are full. Even though it can be explained by several aspects, I tend to think of this phenomenon as an irrational, even stupid one. Therefore, this morning I thought about how I am so irrational that I tend to do various irrational actions, even though they can end as a sort of "waste of something (mainly, time and money)".

For example, I can't stop writing English notes on my memo pad in my daily life, even though I'm Japanese. This means I need English as one of my tools to output my "mind trash" to the outside with a device called my memo pad and a pen (without them, I will forget my precious ideas completely). I am not a perfect AI like ChatGPT, therefore, I must admit I am so paradoxical, even so "random".

I want to keep this as a piece of my memories... Yesterday, I saw a friend at my workplace, and he said that he has always been embraced by "your eagerness (he said this to me so)". I have been so glad to hear that, and this sort of connection I can have with others has certainly empowered me so much to go/progress forward. BTW, is this sort of "adult" friendship possible even though I will be 50 this year? Oh, life is so mysterious.

After coming back to my room, I had dinner. Starting at 7:30 p.m., I joined the weekly Zoom meeting. Today, we enjoyed the event called "Biblio Battle", at which each member introduced their favorite book. I introduced a Japanese interpreter, Hiromi Sodekawa's non-fiction. Every book showed each presenter's unique character, therefore, I could have enjoyed the event a lot. I really appreciate it!
