I worked early today. This morning, I joined the daily English Zoom meeting. Every Sunday is a so-called "free talk" day, during which we enjoy free discussions without deciding on any special topics. At first, we started talking about the argument caused by Zelensky and Trump. However, it's embarrassing to say that I couldn't have followed what happened at that meeting with those two politicians. So, although I couldn't have judged if this could be a good topic, I afforded a topic of the TV program about hikikomori yesterday I had watched. Then, the other participants showed their interests.

As you already know, I'm just an employee of a company who hasn't studied about this "sociological" issue so seriously. All I can tell comes mainly from not the books I've read but the alive experiences I've gotten. During that meeting, I confessed that I was once a terrible heavy drinker who had already given up having any hopes for living toward the future, or keeping any dreams (maybe, I talked about too-personal, too-private things in public). Yes, these things must not be "directly" related to hikikomori issues (at least, I need more steps to connect these personal issues to any public, political ideas).

After today's work, I joined the ongoing discussion about the TV program and also the general hikikomori issue in a LINE group with my friends. Even though my friends and I have to face the fact that each one's policy and opinion is a little bit unique from the others, there is a sort of "discord" among us. However, I accept that each one must keep their uniqueness/individuality enough for not being "digested" by a so-called "peer pressure". This relationship between each individual and the public seems like each server and the internet connection (or so-called cyberspace), I guess.

BTW, I'm a non-native English speaker living in Japan. So, now I want to keep gazing at the Trump's decision to make English the US's official language. Although I have never been in the US as an immigrant, I guess that each one's mother tongue must consist of their identity. So, it seems to me that the country's atmosphere would be changed bit by bit by this sort of change, even though I am just (as I've mentioned) an amateur.
