I worked late today. This morning, I joined the daily English meeting on Zoom. There, we talked a lot for a while. Today's theme was how to live each member's healthy and long life, and the article as a basis of discussion suggested that we have to remember how we should make proper lies during life. For me, it seems to mean a way of living a long life is to enjoy fiction in one's life, and also to avoid becoming too serious.
After that, I went to AEON as usual. There, I sent messages to my friends. As I have written, tomorrow I'm going to do a presentation for my friends on Zoom, and the host person asked me about its title. Finally, I named it "My Blue Period (or My 'Apprenticeship')". With this title, I want to share the several memories of my 20-years-old days (of younger).
For example, that period of mine I have mentioned was in 1995, when a large earthquake in the Kinki area in Japan actually happened. Also, I can remember that year as the scandalous Japanese cult, AUM had committed a sort of terrorism in a subway in Tokyo. Like that, I wrote the ideas in my mind on the memo pad in English. After that, I felt I had been totally tired so I tried to change my mind by visiting the bookstore in that AEON.
At that bookstore, I bought two paperbacks. As you see, Some Japanese books have been rolled by a paper band. The one I bought was also rolled by it, on which the word "80 years since the war" was written. It has attracted my interest well, and let me think about how many years have passed actually. 30 years ago, in 1995, there was no useful internet (so, even though there was a vast network, the internet was not available for ordinary people like me yet). Oh, a long time had passed until now.
Also, I tried to remember several memorial events such as the Gulf War (during this war, I had been thinking about how Japan would be able to join the social/global political scene as an Asian country). Oh, even though I definitely must have been tired, I couldn't stop thinking.
