BGM: Scritti Politti - Boom! There She Was

I had a day off. This morning, I joined the daily English Zoom meeting. After that, even though I had wanted to stay relaxed in my room fully/completely from the bottom of my heart, I couldn't enjoy it, so I decided to go out to change my mood. I went to AEON as usual, and there I sent a LINE message to the admin of my group home to get the money for the coming week. Then, he said he was now available so I went to see him at the main house. We talked about various issues such as my sleeping habits (I always have five or six hours to sleep), the time of taking pills, etc.

After that, I found that a Japanese friend introduced to us a blog article on Messenger. It was about how to tell Japanese traditional words frequently used in this New Year season. Then, an English expert posted that one of those words, "mochi", has now been used casually/frequently in daily English conversations. I have been so impressed by this discussion, and I also posted that once I had learned that "izakaya" and "takoyaki" are now used in daily conversations naturally, even though they are less popular than "mochi".

The expert taught us that when we try to say anything in English, we must try to "grasp" any word's conceptual essence instead of trying to describe its detail too much. In other words, when I try to say anything by using English, I should judge what essential things in any word I want to tell and what things I have to "discard". It must require almost a so-called "instinctive" ability within me, and definitely that's an important essence of learning foreign languages I guess.

After having a "bento (Japanese lunchbox) and taking a nap, I went to the dentist to have a treatment. Then, I went back to my room. This evening, I just stayed chilled with Alva Noto's music (mainly, his collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto). From tomorrow, I have to work as usual even though the New Year will be coming... But, that's the life I have chosen, so I just live mine as honestly as usual.
