Life goes on brah!

BGM: Robert Johnson - Ramblin' On My Mind - Take 1

This morning, I went to AEON as usual to enjoy reading the rest of Roald Dahl's novel "Matilda" a little. However, I couldn't get into the novel, even though I couldn't think of any possible reason for it. Therefore, I gave up and moved to the library, where I found a popular bestseller (yes, I had been interested in certainly), Kaho Miyake's "Why Can't We Read Books When We Work [三宅香帆『なぜ働いていると本が読めなくなるのか』]", so I borrowed this. After that, I went to a reasonable, my favorite barber to have my hair cut.

This morning, I didn't have enough time to enjoy a cozy morning time, so this afternoon, after writing my journal about yesterday and taking a nap, I enjoyed reading the Kaho Miyake book I had borrowed this morning. And found it telling us that this modern world's lifestyle requires us that reading activities as a hobby for the only way to get information, instead of gaining common cultural knowledge/education. It means that our life can be getting slimmer, and thinner without any rich/fertile details in our recognitions (at least, I read this book like this).

Why do I enjoy the old-style hobby, too out-of-date way of spending time, reading books? I can't deny that various brand new ways of enjoying our leisure such as TikTok and YouTube (even though I do never enjoy those entertainments). However, I just like the touch of new paper pages, the smell of them, and the "tastes" of actual letters/words written on the paper. Therefore, I just want to keep reading books even though this kind of hobby would become eventually too anachronic.

This evening, after having dinner, at last, I started painting the pic for the exhibition which would be held in this town (I'm very embarrassed about this too late decision!). With various "bangers" of blues music such as Lightning Hopkins and Howlin' Wolf, I tried to write the English sentence "Does Water Have Its Shape?". However, friends told me this sentence was wrong (so I had to debug that). It seems very apparent that I need to learn various things more and more... besides reading, I need to meet various people to enjoy chatting, discussing, and also doing various collaborations!
